How to Find the Serial Number on Your Shock: Fork & Rear Shock
Do you need help locating the serial number on your suspension fork or rear shock? Here's an overview of where RockShox and Fox stamp serial numbers.
Serial numbers are important to us when you book a service so we can ensure we have everything we need to do the job.

On Fox shocks, you'll find either a 4-digit code or a serial number:


With RockShox shocks, you can find out how old your shock is and where it was manufactured.
Explanation of the serial number:
- WW = Week number of the year: 01-52
- X = Factory code where the fork or shock was produced
- Y = Year within the decade
- ZZZZZZZ = Sequential number (0000001-9999999)
Example serial number: 49T90000001
Explanation of the serial number structure:
- 49XXXXXXXXX - Produced in week 49 of the year
- XXTXXXXXXXX - Produced in the RockShox Shenkang factory in Taiwan
- XXX9XXXXXXX - Produced in the 9th year of the decade (2009, 2019, 2029, etc.)
