It all started with an email from the boss himself at Norrøna Hvitserk Adventures, Marit:
Hi Bjørn,
Hope you're well! Have you thought about a possible bikepacking trip for the summer? :)
Kind regards,
Marit
I had to admit that yes, I had thought about it, but the actual plan had disappeared in a sea of other plans. But now Marit had rekindled the spark.
Hello!
I must admit I did some research on this initially, but then forgot about it. I'll dedicate some serious time to it in the next few days and then we'll talk!Bjørn
Feeling a bit guilty, I dove into maps and routes online, piecing together a route that shouldn't be too tough, not too easy, not too steep, and not too boring. The start and end points had to be accessible by train, and train times had to fit an organized schedule. The route itself also needed some flexibility regarding route choices and distances. Phew...
In other words, a real cycling puzzle.
I finally got there, and after a Teams meeting with the Norrøna Hvitserk crew, we nailed down the plans for a test trip. Magnus, the cycling machine and primary organizer, started with bookings and the final touches.
